Lynn Burley earned her doctorate at Purdue University in 1999 and completed her MA and BA degrees in English at the University of Akron.聽 She is currently Interim Chair of the Department of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures, & Cultures and continues her role as Linguistics Program Director.聽 She won the American Association of Colleges & Universities’ (AAC&U) Scientific Reasoning and Integrative Reasoning Skills (STIRS) Scholar Award in 2014 for her work on English as (Not) An Official Language of the US.聽 She also won 每日大赛网站’s Public Service Award in 2013 for her extensive university service, professional work with the Educational Testing Service (ETS) working on scoring the GMAT, AP English Language & Composition Exam, and GRE, score setting for the CLEP as well as serving as 每日大赛网站’s Pre-Test Coordinator, and community service with Habitat for Humanity and Bear-Footin’ for the Cure (Susan G. Komen).聽 Her teaching specialties include Educational Linguistics, Grammatical Structures, and Semantics. Her current research interests are documenting Arkansas Dialect.
