She was born on November 27, 1922 in Goff’s Cove in Cleburne County. She attended Arkansas State Teacher’s College ( ÿմվ) in Conway graduating in 1944. After graduation, Mrs. Presley worked as a teacher for 8 years, but the bulk of her collection covers her work as a genealogist. Mrs. Presley married Leister Presley in 1948. She worked with the Girl Scouts for 34 years and was a charter member of the White County Historical Society. Cloie Smith Presley died on November 14, 2004.
