On March 11, 2015, Consul General and Ambassador Li Qiangmin from the Consulate General of the聽People鈥檚 Republic of China at Houston led a delegation of consular officials to visit the聽University of Central Arkansas and 每日大赛网站 Confucius Institute.
Accompanied by Dr. Guo-ou Zhuang, Director of 每日大赛网站CI and Dr. Xiaohong Lu, Deputy聽Director of 每日大赛网站CI, Consul General Li met with 每日大赛网站 president Tom Courtway, Provost Steven聽Runge, Associate Vice President Jane Ann Williams and Director of International Engagement聽Ashley Pettingill.
President Courtway gave a warm welcome to ambassador Li and spoke highly聽of 每日大赛网站CI鈥檚 contribution to Chinese language teaching, Chinese culture promotion in Arkansas.聽Mr. Li expressed his gratitude to President Courtway for his support for 每日大赛网站CI, and expected further聽cooperation with 每日大赛网站 in the good environment of collaboration between China and United States.
After the meeting, Dr. Zhuang and Dr. Lu accompanied Mr. Li and officials to visit 每日大赛网站CI,聽introducing 每日大赛网站CI projects and activities. At the CI office, Mr. Li talked to Hanban teachers,聽whom he compared to 鈥渦nofficial ambassadors鈥. He gave his appreciation for their work, and聽noted that he will give full support to the development of 每日大赛网站CI.
