听Program Description
鈥淭heatre in London鈥� is designed to offer an appreciation of theatre by immersing the student in multiple live theatrical experiences, workshops, theatre tours, and museums in one of the world鈥檚 premier cities for the dramatic arts. The attempt is to learn more about ourselves while attempting to help the student gain the ability to appreciate, analyze, evaluate, and enjoy theatrical experiences within their artistic, socio-political and cultural contexts.
Experiences will include: seeing several different performances (Globe, West End, Fringe, National Theatre, and RSC productions), having workshops from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and the Royal Shakespeare Company, touring famous theatres like the National Theatre and the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and experiencing the culture and history of London.

Students must be majoring or minoring in Theatre to attend. Enrollment is limited to 16 participants

Faculty Leaders and听Course Offerings
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,听Prof. Chris Fritzges听has been a full-time educator at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway since 2002, where he teaches acting, voice and movement, stage combat and directs for 每日大赛网站 Theatre.听 He is a member of Actor鈥檚 Equity Association and is an advanced actor combatant within the Society of American Fight Directors. Trained as an actor, Chris has been performing for audiences for over thirty years and has been active in many theatre, film, television, and radio projects in the region.

Professor Shauna Colclasure Meador听is chair of the Department of Film, Theatre and Creative Writing. She is an undergraduate alumnus of 每日大赛网站 and received her M.F.A. in Costume Design and Technology from Purdue University in Lafayette, IN. She has designed at TheatreSquared in Fayetteville, 每日大赛网站, the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre and Purdue University. She has also worked at the Texas and Illinois Shakespeare Festivals. Some of her favorite costume designs have been for A Doll’s House, The Threepenny Opera, and The Learned Ladies. Her costume work for 每日大赛网站’s 2006 production of Bertholt Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera was chosen as a selected entrant for the World Stage Design competition in Seoul, South Korea in the fall of 2009.

Health and Safety听
Students registering for programs should carefully read through all health and safety information provided during the application process. In addition, students should honestly complete the 鈥楬ealth and Safety Form鈥� so that any health related concerns may be adequately accommodated on study abroad programs.
Participants will be enrolled in comprehensive international insurance for the duration of programming. Students must attend one health and safety meeting during the spring semester. Meeting dates will be announced听after the application deadlines.
