The University of Central Arkansas will host the 2010 Henderson/Block Gospel Benefit Concert on Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. in Ida Waldran Auditorium. This event is held in memory of Ryan Henderson and Chavares Block who were victims of an on-campus shooting on Oct. 26, 2008.
Henderson, 18, of Little Rock, was a freshman at the time of the shooting. Block, 19, of Dermott, was a sophomore pre-engineering major.
Last year, enough money was raised to provide two $1,000 scholarships to students from their high school alma maters.
A $5 donation is requested for admission to this year’s benefit concert.
“The funds from this event will allow us to continue to support the academic goals of ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ students,”  said Wendy Holbrook, associate dean in the Office of Student Life.
Individuals who can not attend the concert can make a donation. Checks can be made payable to the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Henderson/Block Fund and sent to the Office of Student Life, Student Center 207 or  mailed directly to: ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Foundation, 201 Donaghey Ave., ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Box 4986, Conway, AR 72035.
