“Iterations,” a musical composition in four movements for narrator, oboe and piano will make its world premiere Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the University of Central Arkansas Snow Fine Arts Center.
The premiere, presented by the 每日大赛网站 Department of Music and the College of Fine Arts and Communication, is part of the Faculty Chamber Concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. A lobby reception follows the concert.
Music for the piece was created by Daniel De Togni, who received his undergraduate degree in music studies at 每日大赛网站. While at 每日大赛网站, he won the Student Spotlight Concerto Competition, where he performed 鈥淩hapsody in Blue鈥� with the 每日大赛网站 Wind Ensemble. De Togni is a composer and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Text for “Iterations” was written by Terry Wright, dean of the 每日大赛网站 College of Fine Arts and Communication. Wright, who will narrate the performance, is also a professor of creative writing at 每日大赛网站 and the author of seven books/chapbooks of poetry.
Playing oboe during the performance will be Lorraine Duso Kitts, professor of Double Reeds at 每日大赛网站. Kazuo Murakami, lecturer of Piano and Coordinator of Collaborative Piano, will play piano.
