ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Hosts Amigo Cup Soccer Tournament

The University of Central Arkansas hosted the first ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Amigo Cup Soccer Tournament Sunday, Sept. 19. The tournament is part of Arkansas Celebrates Mexico 2010, a partnership between the Mexican Consulate in Little Rock, the city of Little Rock, the city of North Little Rock, the William J. Clinton Foundation, University of Arkansas at Little Rock and ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ to provide educational and cultural events recognizing the richness of Mexico’s history. The university held several events including an art exhibit.

The goal of ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾’s Mexican Bi-Centennial Celebration was to promote cultural exchange and the importance of higher education within the Latino/Hispanic community.

Mexican and Central American soccer teams from the Liga de Futbol Mex Ark as well as a team of international students from ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ competed in the tournament.
