The National Association of Schools of Theatre at a recent meeting voted to continue ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾’s good standing for an additional ten year period.This action was taken following a self-study and site visit and upon review of ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ by the NAST Commission on Accreditation.
The Commission commended the faculty and leadership of the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ theatre program (a unit of the Department of Mass Communication and Theatre) for their “dedication and enthusiastic commitment to their students.” The Commission further commended ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ for “a university culture and climate that supports the development of theatre as a center of future excellence.”
ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ is one of only two universities in the state with NAST accreditation and the only one accredited with a Liberal Arts (generalist) Theatre program.
