[1] Purpose
The Pre-Occupational Therapy course of study prepares students for admission to the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾. Completion of the course of study does not guarantee admission to the Occupational Therapy program. For specific admission requirements, see the Occupational Therapy page of the current Graduate Bulletin.
[2] Course of Study
Admission to the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program requires completion of a baccalaureate degree and the following 25 hours of prerequisite course work with a grade of C or better.
Prerequisite Coursework (25 hours)
- SOC 1300 Principles of Sociology OR ANTH 1302 Introduction to Anthropology
- PHYS 1405 Applied Physics OR PHYS 1410 College Physics 1
- FACS 2341 Lifespan Development OR PSYC 3321 Developmental Psychology*
- H SC 3123 Medical Terminology
- PSYC 3323 Abnormal Psychology*
- BIOL 3406 Structure and Function of the Human Body I AND BIOL 3407 Structure and Function of the Human Body II OR 8 hours of equivalent two-course sequence of Human Anatomy and Physiology at the 2000-level or above.
- Statistics (PSYC 2330, MATH 2311, SOC 2321, CISA 2330)
*PSYC 1300 Introduction to Psychology is a prerequisite for PSYC 3321 and PSYC 3323.
