Sub-Committees

CURRICULUM REVIEW SUB-COMMITTEE 
Membership: One representative from each academic college (Business, Education, CHBS, CAHSS, CSE), one unaffiliated representative, and one chair.

Charge: To review applications to add or remove courses to the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core (Lower and Upper Division) and bring a recommendation to the Core Council, following the guidelines as articulated in the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core Handbook. The sub-committee will elect its own chair. The chair of the sub-committee will be responsible for organizing meetings and providing timely recommendations to the Core Council.

FYS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The charge of the FYS Advisory Committee is to:

• Support the implementation of the FYS Program at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾, including faculty development related to the FYS learning goals and course design principles.
• Advise the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core Council on the inclusion of FYS courses in the lower-division ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core.
• Assess and evaluate the FYS Program and propose improvements to the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core Council, including revisions to the learning goals or course design principles.
• Promote alignment of the FYS Program with other initiatives for first-year students.
• Provide guidance for the advancement of the FYS Program across the university.

The FYS Advisory Committee reports to the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core Council

The FYS Advisory Committee consists of the following members:

• FYS Coordinator (Permanent, Chair): Amy Baldwin, ex officio member of the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core Council
• Director of New Student Programs (Permanent)
• Director of Academic Advising or designee (Permanent)
• One faculty member experienced in teaching first-year students (preferably FYS courses)
representing each of the academic colleges and the Honors College, recommended by the dean and approved by the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Core Council.
