2026-2027 Faculty Senate Committees

Executive Committee (2026-2027)

Members:

Charge 1:

The Executive Committee populates and charges the other Faculty Senate Committees, advises the Faculty Senate President, makes recommendations for the consideration of the full Senate, proposes amendments to the Faculty Senate Constitution, makes recommendations to the bylaws of Faculty Senate, and creates ad hoc committees as necessary to conduct the business of Faculty Senate.

Committee on Committees (2026-2027)

The Committee on Committees recommends members for university committees for approval by the Senate and studies all standing university committees except the President’s Administrative Council and the Council of Deans. It also distributes a complete list of committees and their memberships to faculty and administrators each fall. Terms of service for standing university committees begin at the start of the fall semester.

Charge 1:

Identify faculty interested to serve on university level committees as appropriate and submit those names to the Faculty Senate. Work with academic colleges to fill other vacancies on university level committees.

Charge 2:

Deliberately work with the Faculty Handbook Committee on any inconsistencies in committee descriptions.  Research and recommend improvements to the current timing and process of filling vacancies on committees.

Academic Affairs Committee (2026-2027)

Charge:

Finalize the protocols for implementing the Faculty Senate Research Empowerment Grant Program, and implement it as soon as possible.

Faculty Affairs Committee (2026-2027)

Charge 1: 

Make a thorough review of the current Faculty Senate Constitution and Bylaws, identify needed changes and corrections, and make recommendations by December.

Charge 2:

Caucus with members of the Faculty Salary Review Committee to provide updates to the Faculty Senate on progress in this year’s comprehensive salary study, and communicate any senate concerns or considerations back to the committee.

Faculty Advocacy and Engagement Committee (2026-2027)

Review previous work on the Ombudsman position proposal. Seek out best practices, detail the expectations of this position, and make a recommendation by December.
