Arkansas Horn Club to meet at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾

The Arkansas Horn Club is beginning its new season of French horn music. Affiliated with the International Horn Society, and supported by the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Department of Music, the club has been led by ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ faculty member Brent Shires since its inception in 2000.

Hornists from around the state are welcome to attend the meetings/rehearsals, held from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. on Sundays in the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Snow Fine Arts Center Room 120.

Rehearsal dates are scheduled for Sept. 14 and 21, Oct. 5 and 12 and Nov. 16, 23 and 30. Rehearsals will culminate in a performance with other brass ensembles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾.

Another event, a Christmas music-making in the malls called Hornaments, will take place in Little Rock on Saturday, Dec. 6 with rehearsal and performances scheduled from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

There is no charge to participate in any of these events. Participation in the Arkansas Horn Club qualifies members for a reduced fee in the International Horn Society. For more information, contact Brent Shires at 501-450-5768 or email bshires@mail.uca.edu.
