Dr. Mark E. McMurtrey, Department of Management Information Systems, attended the 15th annual Conference on Future of Global Free Enterprise in Washington, D.C. from Oct. 14-16.
He presented a research paper titled “Gone Phishing: Have you been caught?? The article was co-written by Drs. Ken Griffin of 每日大赛网站 and Phillip Balsmeier of Nicholls State University. The article discusses the Internet and e-mail scam known as “phishing.? This occurs when a user is fooled into providing personal and/or financial information to an authentic-looking Web site, when in reality they are subjecting themselves to a subset of identity theft.
