The University of Central Arkansas and College Square, ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾’s independent life-style community, awarded the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ University Connection Award for October to Myrtle Lee Selig.
The award was developed to honor College Square residents who are consistently involved with College Square activities, ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ campus events and who have made significant contributions to the community or society.
Selig has been a resident of College Square for more than a year. She is a 1938 graduate of ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ and received her master?s degree from ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ in 1968. She has served on the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ Alumni Association Board for more than nine years, serving as board president during 2000 and 2001.
Lee also served on the Conway Public School Board for more than nine years and she has been a volunteer for the Conway Regional Hospital for the past 10 years.
Lee has lived in Conway all of her life. She was a devoted wife for more than 48 years to her late husband, Greg, and is the mother of two and grandmother of two.
ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ President Lu Hardin recognized Selig for her volunteer efforts and support of the university during halftime of the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ ? Southern Arkansas University football game on Saturday, Oct. 11.
