The University of Central Arkansas has partnered with KARK-TV, Channel 4, to bring Arkansas television viewers another local site in the station?s exclusive Neighborhood WeatherNet program, ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ President Lu Hardin announced today.
The WeatherNet program provides live, local and accurate weather information from more than 30 school-based sites around the state. ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ will be home to the 34th WeatherNet site in Arkansas and the only university-based site. The program was designed by educators and meteorologists, and captures the interest of students, teachers and the community by integrating weather education with broadcast television technology.
ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ and KARK today activated the new WeatherNet station on the ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ campus. The station has advanced meteorological technology and will transmit live data to KARK?s meteorologists to use during live weather segments.
?At ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾, we?re committed to helping our students discover exciting ways of learning as well as getting prepared for a career upon college graduation,? Hardin said. ?WeatherNet will expose our science students to the latest technology and career paths in meteorology.?
