ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ to host state flag football championship

ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ this weekend will host the 12th annual Arkansas State Flag Football Championship. The tournament is open to all two- and four-year universities and colleges in Arkansas. Forty-five teams will be competing, which represents significant growth since the tournament was founded in 1995 by Laura Monroe and David Dennis, who currently is ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾’s Director of Campus Recreation.

Deane Amyx, ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾’s Intramural Director, is this year’s tournament director. Ninety-five ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ flag football teams, with over 1,200 student participants, competed to represent ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ in the state championships, which will include teams from Arkansas State University, Arkansas Tech University, Henderson State University, Hendrix College, John Brown University, Ouachita Baptist University, Southern Arkansas University, UA-Fayetteville, UA-Medical Sciences, UA-Pine Bluff and UACC-Morrilton.
