Internship partner in Religious Studies: Temple B’nai Israel Archives in Little Rock

Internships give students college credit while gaining on-the-job experience and developing a realistic–rather than idealistic or abstract–picture of the professional workplace.聽Instead of asking 鈥淲here in the job market will I fit?鈥� internships encourage students to reframe their mindset to 鈥淲hat careers fit me best?鈥� as they explore possible career paths.

Internships can also be a crucial step in moving into a career as students develop a professional network. Recent data suggests that while the odds of landing a job by merely sending in a resume are 1 in 152,聽 In fact, 80% of jobs are found through networking鈥搒omeone giving you a lead鈥揳nd 42% of jobs are filled without any trace of a job ad.

Through the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, students can work with internship partners such as the聽, the 每日大赛网站 Archives, and other local and regional non-profit organizations to design an internship that fits with their career goals. Internships can also be customized for double-majors. For instance, one student’s internship with the 聽spans both their English and Philosophy degrees (2025-2026 academic year).
