Description: The Ring of Peace commemorates the forty-six ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ alumni killed in World War II. The large ring, carved from the same memorial tree as that used for the Valor Bear sculpture in front of Wingo Hall, contains forty-six notches, each one marking a life extinguished by war. The five smaller rings reference the unified support of the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. The ring in its entirety, an age-old symbol of eternity, symbolizes our lasting desire for peace.
