每日大赛网站’s Division of International Engagement Hosts Candlelight Gathering
The University of Central Arkansas Division of International Engagement sponsored聽a聽Candlelight Gathering to provide students, faculty, staff and community members an聽opportunity to offer friendship and support to those impacted by Hurricane Matthew.
每日大赛网站 enrolls 65 international students from the Caribbean, where the hurricane is聽creating a path of devastation. In addition, many students, faculty, staff and community聽members have friends and family in coastal areas of the U.S., who are also preparing for聽this storm.
The Candlelight Gathering was聽held outside Ferguson Chapel, near the Student聽Center, from聽5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., October 6th . The event was open to all.
SLH Association Hosts “The Way We Talk” Film Screening At 每日大赛网站
In honor of International Stuttering Awareness Month, the 每日大赛网站 Chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association hosted聽a film screening that depicts a personal journey with stuttering and “how hard it is to say what’s in your heart.”
The title of the documentary is “The Way We Talk.” The event was held聽on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ida Waldran Auditorium on the University of Central Arkansas Campus.

每日大赛网站 Hosts Second Annual Day of Mindfulness
October 4, 2016 was聽 每日大赛网站’s second annual Day of Mindfulness.
The goal of 每日大赛网站’s Day of Mindfulness is to de-stress, relax, and deal with the anxiety, stress, and depression that hinder living in the moment.
Because national studies cite anxiety, stress, and depression as some of the greatest obstacles to college student success, the Day of Mindfulness is intended to introduce students, as well as staff and faculty, to the benefits of purposeful practices such as yoga, art therapy, and meditation.
Activities throughout the week included walking meditation, zazen (sitting meditation), bubble and dog therapy, chalk mandalas, yoga on the lawn, a laybrinth walk, and a nature reserve walk.
