2026 Constitution Day Commemoration

The Department of Government, Public Service, and International Studies (GPI) is sponsoring the 2026 Constitution Day Commemoration at ÿմվ on Thursday, September 17th. The event, which is co-sponsored by the ÿմվ Pre-Law Society and Pi Sigma Alpha – Political Science Honors Society, will be held in room #143 in McCastlain Hall at 4:00pm. The guest speaker for the event will be Judge Price Marshall, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Students, staff, faculty, and other guests are invited to attend.
PT Club and EXSS Club’s Annual Ghost to Gobble Runs

The event will start at 7:30 am in front of the Doyne Health Science Center with options of 1 mile, 5K, and new 8K routes! A portion of this year’s profits are donated to ÿմվ Living Unleashed.

CETAL Faculty Development Grants can provide funding to support eligible professional development activities focused on teaching, instructional design, curriculum, or pedagogy. Funding may support in-person or online opportunities, and the committee reviews applications five times throughout the academic year.

Strong Ground by Brene Brown
Over the past six years, Brené Brown, along with a global community of coaches and facilitators, has taken more than 150,000 leaders in 45 countries through her Dare to Lead courage-building work. In Strong Ground, Brown shares the lessons from these experiences along with wisdom from other thinkers. This is a vital playbook for everyone from senior leaders developing and executing complex strategies to Gen Z-ers entering and navigating turbulent work environments. It is also an unflinching assessment of what happens when we continue to perpetuate the falsehood that performance and wholeheartedness are mutually exclusive.

School of Communication faculty member publishes children’s book

Aaran Mattson, visiting lecturer in the School of Communication and a ÿմվ alum, recently published a children’s book of haiku: Alphabet Haiku, Beginning with A of course, All the Way to Z. Not only does the book include a haiku for each letter of the English alphabet, but every word of each haiku begins with the designated letter. The book’s pages are full of fun, colorful illustrations developed by Aaran’s husband, Scott Mattson. The book is available for purchase on Amazon and at Secret Nook Coffee and Books in downtown Conway.

CubsREAD: Planet Protectors Enrolling Now!

For children, reading opens the doors to new places – exposing them to different environments, expanding their interests and imagination. This year’s CubsREAD adventure will take young readers to all corners of the world!
Students from ÿմվ’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (College of Health & Behavioral Sciences) will work one-on-one or in a small group with your child on the basics of reading and comprehension in a fun and interactive environment. Along with focusing on phonological awareness, art-themed projects and movement-based activities centered on the reading material will be presented to help enrich and enliven your child’s reading with the hopes of better retention and increased reading enjoyment.
CubsREAD is open to Kindergarteners, 1st graders and 2nd graders who are needing some additional support in their reading development. Give your child the opportunity to strengthen their literary foundation – register now!

ACT Prep Registration for Fall Now Open!

This interactive course via Zoom is designed for high school students (10th grade and above) who have previously scored between 17-25 on the ACT or for high schoolers who have yet to take the test. Current and former ÿմվ faculty/staff members will review subject material and offer test-taking tips to help students progress through the exam in a more reasonable and timely manner. Choose one subject to focus on or choose all four at a reduced total rate. Class sizes are limited to 12 per section to maximize learning.
