The Softball Bears are at home on Friday for another Fall Ball game! This time taking on Mississippi Delta at 4 PM at Shock Stadium. Admission is free!

Three chances to watch baseball at home this week! The annual Purple vs Gray Fall World Series kicks off at Bear Stadium on Wednesday, October 29th at 3 PM. Game two will be played on Thursday at 3 PM and the final game of the series will take place on Saturday at 11 AM. All three games are free and a great chance to catch the Bears before baseball season starts!

Our Men’s Basketball program is hosting an Education Day on December 17th! We currently have over 1,000 elementary and middle school students signed up to attend this event and we need your help! Prior to the game vs Kansas Christian we are offering tabling that the students can go up and learn more about various educational and age appropriate topics. Tabling would be on the 17th in the Farris Center from 9 AM – 10:45 AM. Set up for tables would begin at 8 AM.

Not every school will get to the game early enough to participate with the tables but we want to offer this as an opportunity to let ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ shine!

A student’s lack of involvement can impact their own performance and that of their peers, resulting in diminished learning outcomes and reduced classroom productivity. Faculty can address disengaged students by actively seeking to understand their challenges and considering the following strategies:

Faculty Tips to Reinforce Success

Here are a few simple ways you can encourage these habits in your classes.

• Refer students to Tutoring, Success Coaching, or Academic Advising.
• Reach out to students who have missed deadlines or are not engaging in class to encourage them to visit your office hours or have a conversation before or after class. Learn about how your class fits into their goals for attending ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ and brainstorm ways to manage your classwork within their broader list of priorities.
• Consider allowing a flexible submission deadline on at least one assignment that would allow a student to submit late or revise an assignment if they meet with you and/or see a peer coach, tutor, or SI instructor.

COSE Department of Biology invites you to take photos for the last week of JMNR Photo Contest.
An opportunity to win new prizes for both Student and Faculty/Staff Categories have been added!
Winners will receive a $100 gift card
Second place will receive a $50 gift card
Winning photographs will be displayed in the CNSM Dean’s Office and COSE Facilities, and on ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ social media.
Please send up to 3 photographs per person directly to dussourd@uca.edu, attached to an email by November 1.

Photographs may be taken in any of ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾’s natural areas including in the gardens behind Lewis Science Center, in the LSC atrium, along Stone Dam Creek, at Steel Creek on the Buffalo River, and of course in Jewel Moore Nature Reserve. Any photographic equipment may be used; many winning photographs in the past were taken with cell phones. The goal of the contest is to promote photography at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÍøÕ¾ and to recognize our beautiful natural areas on campus. More complete instructions are attached.

Bring your family, friends and enemies to the 2nd annual Ghost to Gobble 5k and NEW One mile fun walk/run!! Proceeds go to the AR Special Olympics and to assist students in the Physical Therapy and Exercise and Sport Science department attend state, regional and national conferences.
